This February, we have four great talks planned for our speaker series! Jason Mitchell from the UM School of Nursing will get the month started with his talk on HIV prevention for gay male couples on the 1st. On Friday, February 8th, David Frost will join us from the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health to talk about minority stress and mental health in same-sex relationships. Our own Gary Harper, who recently joined the UM Department of Health Behavior and Health Education from DePaul University, will talk about the sexual health of Black gay/bisexual young men and his critical consciousness interventions on February 15th. Finally, we’ll end the month of February with a talk from Patrick Wilson, also coming from Columbia, who will talk about the intersection of religion, traumatic life experiences, and HIV from both a risk and resilience perspective among Black MSM.
Here’s our flyer for the February talks. We hope you’re able to join us!
